Holistic Kinesiology Adam Rayment

Kinesiology is a natural health discipline which uses the gentle art of muscle testing to access information about a person's wellbeing. It is based on the understanding that the health of a person is dependent upon a dynamic yet balanced flow of energy throughout the body. This holistic model of health has been recognized and practiced for thousands of years in many cultures worldwide, the best example being the Traditional Chinese Medicine system from which Acupuncture evolved.

Modern science, meanwhile, has focused on a mechanistic model of disease in an attempt to understand the function (and dysfunction) of each individual part of the body.

Holistic Kinesiology is a therapy which aims to unify the now converging viewpoints of East and West, ancient and modern, to address today's health issues in the most comprehensive way possible.

The natural state of a human being is one of health, vitality and wellbeing. Illness occurs when some part of the system falls out of harmony with the whole, creating stress or tension within the body. Often, negative attitudes or beliefs play a causal role in upsetting the body's equilibrium and over time (if unresolved) these can lead to emotional disturbance, chemical imbalance and, eventually, physical disease.

Through an understanding of the body-mind's systems and patterns, a Kinesiologist is able to use muscle feedback to identify these underlying causes. These can then be cleared using a variety of gentle and effective natural techniques, allowing the system to move back towards a state of balance and equilibrium (known biologically as homeostasis).

In practice this can involve a variety of approaches:

The holistic attitude to health means that illness and disease of any kind can be addressed in a way that is specific to the client's needs and, crucially, looks to treat the causes of disharmony rather than the symptoms. This helps to bring understanding and self-responsibility back to the client, empowering them to make positive change in their lives.
